Christ no.

Flamingolingo · 06/03/2021 22:33

Saw the first 5 minutes and it seemed like it was going to be dreadful so switched it off. Interested to see if anyone thinks it’s worth watching.

dementedpixie · 06/03/2021 22:34

Watched it tonight. A pile of crap tbh

BigTallyWacker · 06/03/2021 22:36

We switched it off after 20mins.

twilightcafe · 06/03/2021 22:36

Watched last night. I'll give it 6.5/10. A pointless remake which was amusing at times.

TokyoSushi · 06/03/2021 22:37

We lasted about 10 minutes too!

Leeds3 · 07/03/2021 19:17

Very cheesy, but it was fun to revisit all the old characters. Good for a bit of mindless entertainment.

SandysMam · 07/03/2021 19:21

I wanted to love it but it was just a bit...crap!! But nice bit of nostalgia as I love the original. The actor that plays the son is absolutely gorgeous too and the costumes are fab. Bits made me smile but I got about half way through and turned it off to do something but now can’t be bothered to watch the rest! I’m glad it was free on Prime, would have been livid if I had paid for it!!

dancemom · 07/03/2021 19:24

Awful

chipsandpeas · 07/03/2021 19:25

it was pretty shit

WobbliHead3000 · 07/03/2021 19:26

Yes I’m part way through. I’m enjoying the nostalgia from all of the original cast members. I’m also loving the black cultural references. I like that they didn’t try to remake it, but continue the story.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 07/03/2021 19:28

We lasted an hour before switching off.
The original was very of its time and it has not translated well.

peak2021 · 07/03/2021 22:06

After seeing Beverley Hills Cop which is the worst film I think I have ever seen at a mainstream cinema, I avoid anything with Eddie Murphy in. His attempt at denying fatherhood (of Melanie Brown's child) made me like him even less.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 07/03/2021 22:08

I loved the original, watched in again recently, thought it was shit. Doubt I’ll watch the sequel

BettySweaty · 07/03/2021 22:13

I watched it. Good to see the original cast. I think the budget will have far outweighed the level of enjoyment anyone will get from it. Not great. I wouldn't advise anyone rush to see it.

IveNameChangedAgain2020 · 07/03/2021 22:20

My 15 year old is asking for the time he wasted watching it with us back 😂😂

I was so disappointed. It has so many amazing people in it. I also felt it was pretty racist!

FeelinSpendy · 08/03/2021 11:38

I watched it. Loved the original (loved all of Eddy Murphy’s 80’s movies) and was nice that they got almost all of the main characters back. But it was too try-hard, the story was disjointed as they tried to fit in too much, and was pretty much an exercise in self-indulgence for Eddie Murphy. Probably more cringe moments than laugh out loud ones.
I thought Wesley Snipes was good - I always thought he seemed like he took himself too seriously for a role like that but he embraced it and was funny.

PeskyRooks · 08/03/2021 11:42

It was pretty rubbish the only good bit was Salt n Pepa being in it. It looked like they had fun making the film, watching it, not so much!!

boys3 · 08/03/2021 20:14

Did sit through the entire thing. There was a very good reason why a sequel had managed to avoid being made for over 30 years. If you have to I recommend plenty of WineGin to get through it.

Standrewsschool · 14/03/2021 20:17

I watched it it today, and quite enjoyed it. The main young actor was good, and I liked all the original cast members. The costumes are great.

It’s not Oscar winning, but fine for some light entertainment,

worried3012 · 22/03/2021 01:31

I had a feeling it wouldn't be very good so I went in with low expectations. As a result I actually quite enjoyed it. The first one is one of my favourite movies ever so it's always going to be a tough act to follow.

It's cheesy and a bit lame but I did laugh at times. Loved the throwbacks and seeing the original cast. Some parts were well made. The storyline a bit crap.

I liked seeing Gladys Knight , En Vogue and Salt n Pepa!
