go and see it then it is quite arty and enjoyable with some violence..at least one scene at little bit on the everyone has to laugh side

quite low key, but with a certain kind of atmospheric feel of a possible london underbelly, even dull but that is cronenberg I think..the midwife seems very naive i think her character is rather sketchy she just seems to provide the candy

Used to like Cronenberg when he was a bit unhinged but he seems to have turned into a fairly bland, self-consiously 'artistic' director who is not as radical as he likes to believe. A History Of Violence was a wee bit dull imho.

Agreed with drdad. That the guy behind eXistenZ, Dead Ringers, Crash, and Naked Lunch make a conventional non-brainer like A History of Violence is the sad victory of the vanilla culture of pop. Maybe he decided to make movies for general populace to make money. Or maybe he had a lobotomy.

Meanwhile, at OP calling Cronenberg 'dull'. I have to assume that A History of Violence your first taste of Cronenberg. Or if you found his previous movies 'dull', I'd love to hear about the kind of entertainment you are used to.
