Any good drama tear jerker movies?

I was banking on showing My Sisters Keeper to DM after dinner but she’s remembered she’s seen it so now I’m stuck.

Any suggestions welcome

Onward (Disney cartoon)
Abominable (cartoon)
War horse (film)

Agree with Coco and Up (more Disney cartoons) and the incredible journey and Marley and me (films)

Marley and Me. Proper tear jerker. DD was sobbing and asked DS if he knew what had happened as he was smiling away playing with his Lego. He turned and said 'Of course, the bloody dogs dead!' She still harps on about it 12 years later to ram her point home that boys have absolutely no empathy.

Beaches is incredibly sad too and Steel Magnolias.

Inside Out. We were somehow crying through most of it and then one part devastated us.

Up is unwatchable IMO Grin

The railway children

purpleme12 · 26/12/2020 19:03

I love Railway Children but I'd never describe it as a tearjerker.

Marley & Me I cried and cried
My god it's effective

givemeagiraffe · 26/12/2020 19:06

Ooh I remember watching Marley and Me when I was pregnant and just weeping. I think DH was wondering what he'd got himself into.

Actually Beethoven too. Maybe it's a dog thing.

The strange life of Timothy Green is lovely, its child friendly as well.

Hachi, a dogs tale

BasiliskStare · 26/12/2020 19:30

@LubaLuca - I wa just going to say - Goodnight Mr Tom - you beat me to it - just lovely but also a bit tearful

Also @DfEisashambleshttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327804/mediaviewer/rm2431294720/

utterly tear jerking and just lovely in equal measure but perfectly OK for all ages www.imdb.com/title/tt0327804/mediaviewer/rm2431294720/

BestWatcherInTheUnit · 26/12/2020 19:32

Oh yes, Shadowlands. About CS Lewis and his wife.

Also The Remains of the Day wins the prize for how much emotional intensity can you get into a U-rated movie. I love that film.

DfEisashambles · 26/12/2020 19:49

Duly say with remote in hand adding these to watch list.
