Has anyone seen this yet? Reviews please. DSs are 5 and 7 - will they like it?

Oh my God, just came here to post same question - I'm going in half-term but has anyone seen it already?

I LOVED the book. My children are too little for this I think. And Eddie Izzard is It which I think has to be great casting

roisin · 20/10/2004 16:09

Bump again

oh right i see.

Am planning on taking the kids to see it anyway.

roisin · 25/10/2004 15:59

We've been! DS2 (sensitive little flower) found the first half hour or so a bit scary, and wasn't sure he wanted to stay, but once I assured him it would have a happy ending he was OK!

DS1 (who is rather eccentric) absolutely adored every second. I'm not sure how much it would appeal to most children though!

Went to see it (It) yesterday with dd age 7, her best friend age 7 and her mum (my friend) and it was excellent: story, acting, cinematography - will undoubtedly be the best film this year.

Freckle · 28/10/2004 08:58

Loved it. Took 3 boys, plus niece and nephew yesterday and DS2's verdict was that it was "cool" - so that's it then! Lovely film to watch, loved Kenneth Branagh in it (sort of reprising his "on another planet" role a la Gilderoy Lockhart).

Thoroughly recommend it. Have to admit to liking it more than Shark Tale.

captainCOD · 28/10/2004 09:01

isnt htis funny?!
the times called it a " truly ghastly film"

Freckle · 28/10/2004 09:07

Maybe the Times should employ me as their film critic then. I can't think of anything in the film that was ghastly.

Cam · 28/10/2004 09:21

Who was the Times reviewer? Someone without kids.....?

charliecat · 05/11/2004 15:55

I have rented this from the library today and am going to have a popcorn party with kids age 7 6 5 and 4 I jope its as good as you say and not ghastly!
Got the bratz movie as well as scooby doo just in case though!
