Ds is spending a lot of time with my parents this summer.
They get out plenty but on rainy days dm likes to put a film on.
We've watched Harry Potter.
They've just started the hobbit and Ds is really enjoying it.
Any other suggestions that are a little more meaty than cartoons and my dps will enjoy too please?

The Pink Panther
Star wars

beela · 26/07/2020 20:19

Star wars?

I can't bear them but they keep my 9yo (and my dh!) entertained.

InvincibleInvisibility · 26/07/2020 20:20

Not a film but he also loves The goes wrong show and Some mother do ave em

ChibiTotoro · 26/07/2020 20:25

We watched the original Jumanji film recently, which my DCs enjoyed. We haven't watched the Goonies with them yet. Could try Indiana Jones too.
Also we've enjoyed watching Mr Bean repeats too.

DS is 8 and other than Harry Potter has enjoyed Ghostbusters, and Gremlins recently but mostly still enjoys cartoon and Disney stuff. He's tried Star Wars but just got bored between the bits of action!

mogloveseggs · 27/07/2020 10:10

Great suggestions thank you! I'll pass them on to dm. We watched gremlins over Christmas but he wasn't keen. It is a bit gross though lol.

They’re on Disney+ if you have it 👍🏻
BikeRunSki · 27/07/2020 16:35

All the Wimpy Kid movies

yikesanotherbooboo · 27/07/2020 16:39

My children loved cheaper by the dozen and the parent trap at that age.

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2020 16:42

Not very seasonal, but the “Nativity” series and “Deck the Halls” (the Danny de Vito one).

GrouchyKiwi · 27/07/2020 16:44

My 8-year-old DD loved Maleficent, The (original) Parent Trap, Labyrinth. Now's a good time to traumatise your child with Artax in The Neverending Story.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/07/2020 16:45

What about Willow and The Rocketeer? (Both also on Disney +.)

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2020 16:45

The Italian Job (the original, depends if you are ok with “bloody”, but the final scene is fabulous)

GrouchyKiwi · 27/07/2020 16:47

George of the Jungle? I put that on for the children when I want to watch it.

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2020 17:01

Mrs Doubtfire

My 2 both really enjoyed the new Artemis Fowl movie on Disney+.

My 8 year old and I have recently enjoyed:

Ace Ventura 2, When Nature Calls
Both the Percy Jackson films
The Kid Who Would Be King
Ghostbusters 1 and 2, plus the new all-female one
All the Star Wars films
The Princess Bride
Indiana Jones films
The Goonies (careful, as a few swears but she found that extra funny!)

I love watching films with her that I grew up loving and seeing them again through her fresh eyes.
