The Secret Garden (1993)

I noticed Netflix added The Secret Garden (1993) to Netflix so I decided to watch it this evening. It was one of my favourite films when I was little and I think the last time I watched it I was maybe no older than 10 years old. When I was little I always wanted to dress like Mary Lennox with bows in my hair.

It was just so lovely to watch and I had completely forgotten about it. It has definitely now made its way onto a list of my favourite films.

I'm with you. It's a charming adaption which my kids loved in the 2000s

I wanted to be Mary as well. I absolutely loved this film when I was younger. I recently watched the new version with my dd and whilst it was lovely, it wasn't as enchanting as the 1993 version.

My daughter is 6 and its one of her favourites. Its a lovely adaption.

Im not watching the new version with Colin Firth which seems far too removed from the book for me.

It's brill isn't it, me and the kids have watched it a few times I love it when they watch something I recommend and actually enjoy it

My teen DSs still love this movie. We watched the new one when it came out and it was rubbish! We especially like the facemasks they all wear when spending time with Colin

Omg the music was amazing also I had a weird.crush on the uncle. When he suddenly woke up and said "l'addition!" so assertive, woof

One of my most beloved films (and books!) EVER. Was furious when I saw the trailer for the remake.

The music for whenever her uncle leaves/returns is spine-tingling.
