Been meaning to get this up for a couple of weeks now as I thought it was an amazing film & very inspiring art wise. It had beautiful colours and sets that if you are into eastern culture , its like taking an eastern feast drug. The music sent you off into dreamworld that was almost meditational. I loved that each scene had its own unique colour even if it was the same set and characters over and over.

The figths scenes were also hypnotic in the way they were played out, slowley and with thought to the movement of th swords and bodys. Although a little repetitive as the story is told from different versions. I think the only drawback was that you were never able to feel for character because of the story changing every time it was played out.So in comparison to crouching tiger it was very well mastered but crouching had more heart to it as you sympathised with the main characters.

Jet Li cut his teeth on a series of Historical Action Dramas made in China and Hong Kong and they are AMAZING, really really worth getting hold of if you can for the fight scenes and the insights in to Medieval Chinese history and folklore and the cosutmes, man, the costumes!

However he was made to look a right numpty in Lethal Weapon 4. And he was offered the lead in Crouching TIger but didn't want to leave his PG wife alone in China. Bless him

Oh and he used to be Junior Wu Shu champion of China

wow suzy didnt know that of him and Crouching , but I think chow fat was more debonauir for the role and more suited to the love with the woman lead character.

I loved the other male supporting chap In HERO , he was quite tasty!!

great link for crouching game & music LOL !!

Have seen it too and love it. The colours were amazing and i thought the acting/fighting was amazing. the actress maggie cheung who played the main woman was once hong kong's representative in Miss World many many years ago!!! Having watched this kinda stuff growing up, i think it is interesting that this genre is now becoming more mainstream.

having seen this two years ago (i think), i can't give a detailed review, but I remember it being absolutely beautiful and awe-inspiring, and very SAD at the end. bring your kleenex !!
