Dc are 18, 17 and 13, youngest is quite young for age, any recommendations for films we’d all like please? We have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney plus.

The jumanji reboot with Dwayne Johnson (not the brand new one) is was surprisingly entertaining- to adults here no dc, switched it on by accident but we both really liked it

Secretariat, horse racing movie, true story. My 16 and 13 yr olds loved it, also Martian with Matt Damon. We watch a lot of coach/sports movies as a family, maybe check out commonsense media to see if there is sex/violence first. The Blind Side, Miracle (2004 hockey movie), Coach Carter.

The haunted house on the Disney channel with Eddie Murphy

We’re going through a bucket list of 100 films with DD(14).
So far she has enjoyed:
Back to the Future 1
Ghostbusters 1
Amélie
Good Will Hunting
The Truman Show
Alien (14 rating)

I’d recommend
The Life of Pi
Dead Poets Society
which aren’t on our list.

The Martian
Groundhog Day

We watched Fighting with my Family last week and loved it.

There's a lot of swearing but it's very funny and has some really positive messages eg the importance of family.

glitterbiscuits · 12/04/2020 07:58

Same age as my bunch, it's tricky
We enjoyed all the Maze Runner films.

Tiramumsu · 12/04/2020 08:02

The Missing Link on Netflix is very funny!

TheBitterBoy · 12/04/2020 08:07

We watched Titanic with my 11 year old this week, he was gripped by it, there's a lot less romance and a lot more action than I remembered!

Are the older ones into the Marvel movies? They are all on Disney. Watch them in order www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2020/03/marvel-movies-watching-order-chronological-release-order-mcu and you've got many evenings of entertainment

Devlesko · 12/04/2020 23:33

Definitely The colour Purple, definitely not a fun film, but certainly has it's place, in a long lockdown.
