Seen it years ago, but it is so eerily similar to now...

Same, watched it years ago and just thought it was a great movie. Watched it again tonight and thought wtf! Eerily similar, like you say. Social distancing, wash hands, cough, temperature-all sounds frighteningly relatable.
The only thing is it showed the breakdown of society and boundaries of the law. Hope we're not there yet, although the stockpiling and loo roll fights weren't far off! Can't believe how realistic the film was to now.

It is now on Netflix so watched it there. Couldn’t believe how similar it is to what is happening now. Aside from that it was actually a really good film and the flashback at the end showing how the whole chain started was very well done. If that part doesn’t make you was your hands nothing will

I thought it funny how millions died before they started the food panic. And they came up with that vaccine pretty darn quick!

What hapoeened at the end with the bat and the bird - what dropped on the floor that tbe pig ended up eating?

SwerfandTurf · 07/04/2020 22:30

The infected bat dropped a bit of banana which the pig ate, infecting the pig.

I watched it years ago so can't really remember. Did America save the day?

mrsradley · 07/04/2020 22:55

Jesus . Watching it now and how true is it ringing?

Someone knew something a while ago clearly.

NoraEphronsneck · 07/04/2020 23:01

What side was it on

MsPepperPotts · 07/04/2020 23:04

It's on Netflix and Amazon Prime

MsPepperPotts · 07/04/2020 23:10

First time I have seen it was last night
To think that it was made 10years ago...It was scary just how similar it is to the global situation now we have right now.

LimescaleCowboy · 07/04/2020 23:11

It was all Gwyneth Paltrow's fault apparently

JMAngel1 · 08/04/2020 12:07

I didn't sleep well last night dreaming about bats!
If the majority of these pandemic viruses come from bats, is there not something that should be done? I don't know what but it just seems that the risk of a different novel viral outbreak is hovering

It has been on ITV 2 twice recently and I watched it then. It was on in 2 parts and the first time I hadn’t noticed and only recorded the first half so I saw the 2nd half a bit later.

At the start when it says Day 2 I rewound a couple of times thinking I’d missed Day 1. I thought that was done well, Day 1 being a flashback at the end.

I watched the Pandemic series on Netflix as well. Documentary rather than drama, but both were so eerily familiar.

I watched it on Netflix on the weekend.

It echoes reports from 2006 about hygiene practises in China’s wet markets that were ignored time and time again.

Holothane · 08/04/2020 16:20

I’m rewatching survivors the 1970s version.

It was all Gwyneth Paltrow's fault apparently

No it wasn't, right at the end, the Chef didn't wash his hands after touching the raw meat, he gave it to her and she spread it from there.
