I see that Brad Pitt has made the transition to producer of the above. (Caught it on Netflix and was transfixed.) Who else has done the same?

It was an odd film, but I enjoyed it.

Brad Pitt has been a producer for a little while now.

I loved it, didn't know who Timothée Chalamet was before I saw it (I thought he was British) so I was very surprised to discover he wasn't 😂.

I loved the action scenes in the mud and especially the bit with Robert Pattinson, actually Robs french accent is hilarious but he gets away with it for some reason, probably because he's playing such a dick.

The ending was entertaining, Lilly Rose Depp I thought was quite good.

I really enjoyed it.

Pitt as producer. So I see. (from his biog- which I should have checked first. Mea culpa.)

Yes. I liked the battle scenes. I'm used to the 'glossy' Shakespearean way of doing things so Pitt's way seemed more realistic.

Yes very realistic battle scenes which must have been exhausting and exhilarating to film. I'm glad it was filmed that way tbh, much more exciting and real than just two men going single combat.

I also loved the character of Falstaff, the guy who played him was brilliant!

I'm unclear what the director does as opposed to the producer - especially when the producer is an actor.

The producer is more concerned with the money and business side. The director with the artistic direction and vision.
It can be a case of an actor wanting to get some story in particular on film and his/her name can help get a studio (who pay for it to be made) interested. It also gives them more control over the product.

cozietoesie · 26/01/2020 11:49

That's as I thought. It still seems like a recipe for conflict.

Why is Robert Pattinson’s French accent hilarious? It’s a French accent. He did a good job with it.

imjustanerd · 26/01/2020 12:25

I didn't say he didn't do a good job with the french accent.

What I meant was it was good very good, but was quite an exaggeration or almost a caricature of a french accent, which personally I found hilarious and is only my opinion.

But like I said he pulls it off and it adds to his character in a way I can't articulate, his choice could have easily gone the other way entirely if done by a less experienced actor.
