Looking for something the girls would like to see without their brother,DD1(9YR)wants to see Bratz. Looks and sounds awful and themes just wrong for a 9 year old girl. Can anyone confirm my feelings about it are correct?

The advert looks bad enough,i wouldn't risk it.
Gives young girls nothing but superficial image/body conscious icons to aspire to.

yes, one to avoid perhaps.

My dd (9) and most of her friends have seen and enjoyed it.

My dd will be 9 in September and wants me to take her and friends for her 'party' to see it. I havent got a problem, although I reckon it'll be awful. My only worry is that it won;t still be on by then as its so awful!

i've just seen it - it's like a bad remake of Mean Girls. there are some good themes in there (friends are friends whatever, "bad" girl gets her comeuppance yaddayadda) but it's mainly pretty girls doing what pretty girls do, with irritating valley girl accents. it's obviously aimed at the 9-13 age range, but i don't know if i'd let my 9 year old watch it IWKWIM! but then i don't have a 9 year old, so i'm not one to judge!
