In the mood for something I can get my teeth into but not overly complex or disturbing.

So action/drama type thing available to watch free on prime, Netflix or catch up apps

Like 80's/90's action stuff and legal dramas

So I like stuff like mission impossible, wanted, terminator, Erin brockovich, runaway jury...

So a decent but not overly complicated plot line.

Bit of a fascination for spy/Cold War stuff too

The best film I have seen in ages was "You were never really here" with Joaquin Phoenix. Free on Prime. It's quite bloody though and the subject is difficult. Very good though.

Double Jeopardy?

GlitchStitch · 02/11/2019 20:05

Reasonable Doubt on Netflix is quite good, bit of legal stuff as well as action, some twists but not too complicated so an easy watch.

7Worfs · 02/11/2019 20:13

90s anything with Julia Roberts / Mel Gibson / Bruce Willis

Anything by John Grisham - The Client, The Pelican Brief

Graphista · 02/11/2019 20:48

Tried atomic blonde couldn't get into it, trying reasonable doubt now.

Have you seen A Few Good Men? I love that one.

A Time to Kill - brilliant but harrowing.

The Blind Side?

Loveislandaddict · 02/11/2019 21:01

Marking my place for inspiration.

Just watched Paper Town which was okay. Recorded it off terrestrial tv though, so not sure if it’s on subscription services.

Graphista · 02/11/2019 21:06

Double jeopardy, a few good men and the blind side I've watched loads.

Seen most John Grishams at least a few times.

A time to kill is too upsetting for me.

Couldn't get into reasonable doubt, in a tricky mood I think.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/11/2019 23:07

Handsome Devil
Feel good, without being totally naff.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/11/2019 23:09

Oh, it's British too and has a brilliant soundtrack.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/11/2019 23:11

If you want something more gripping, as you said though, Capote, or True Story.
All on Netflix

rosegoldwatcher · 02/11/2019 23:13

Bridge of Spies - Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance - really good IMO. On Netflix.
