Someone's just given me "Nightmare Before Christmas" on DVD - And I'm kind of ashamed to say I've never seen it before. Obviously, I know some of the songs because they appear on Disney playlists on iTunes and Spotify but I've never seen it.

Is it worth the watch? I can't wait till Halloween to pop it in the DVD player. So, I'm having a late-night treat with M&M's and a cup of tea

Yes, it's a decent film. Do you have kids? They might like to watch it with you.

LavaLamp5566 · 02/09/2019 22:54

I have a little girl. My partner has two little ones as well, we might pop it on tonight then watch it again tomorrow with the kids
I've got a whole ton of Disney films I've not seen, I feel so far behind the times - It's embarrassing

It's brilliant!

PinkBuffalo · 02/09/2019 22:54

I love this film! It's for all year round watching Smile

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 02/09/2019 22:56

I love it but would only watch it at Christmas. I’m very strict!

PersonalClown · 02/09/2019 23:01

I love it.
It's probably one of my favourite films.
I'm going to see it live with the actors singing live with a full orchestra in December!! Can't wait!!

PerspicaciaTick · 02/09/2019 23:02

It is very good. Very creepy so it might depend how tolerant the children are of that sort of thing.

Shutupseaguls · 02/09/2019 23:05

I love it. Used to scare me as a child but then again I was a kid who was afraid of playdoh so no surprises there. My children love it too.

LavaLamp5566 · 02/09/2019 23:06

My little one will probably get bored halfway through as she's only three but my partner's boys will adore it, they love Tim Burton films - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a hit for them @PerspicaciaTick

I love Tim Burton films, so yes. My favourite is Corpse Bride though.

PerspicaciaTick · 02/09/2019 23:08

That should be fine then. I introduced my two to Coraline a bit early and they still haven't recovered Grin

shivbo2014 · 02/09/2019 23:10

My 5 year old loves this! Im not so keen. She also loves Frankenweenie, she likes a Tim Burton film.

LavaLamp5566 · 02/09/2019 23:10

We haven't done Coraline yet, but we have watched Corpse Bride, both Alice in Wonderland films and James and the Giant Peach with the boys. They loved them Grin

I do love a Tim Burton film too, but I'm honestly ashamed I've never seen Nightmare before Christmas @shivbo2014

Be a bit careful with Coraline! I found that quite scary as an adult! Definitely watch it alone first so you can gauge what you think!

LavaLamp5566 · 02/09/2019 23:29

My partner's boys are eight and ten, they've watched worse with their Mother's boyfriend - Sad but it's true

This is in my top 10 favourite films!!! It is amazing, though for me it is a Christmas film, I love watching it at Christmas time 😊

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/09/2019 21:32

Lucky you watching it for the first time!

JollyAndBright · 21/09/2019 21:49

It’s a Christmas film not a Halloween film

(but I always watch it at Halloween.... and Christmas).... and any time I fancy a good singalong.

I love it, I love Tim Burton and NBC is one of my all time favourite animated films.

anunseemlylovefordustin · 21/09/2019 21:50

One of my favourite films! I'm envious of you getting to watch it for the first time :) I'm going to see the performance in December with the original actors singing too, like someone upthread. I'm so excited!!

MusicToMyEars800 · 21/09/2019 21:59

It’s so great times fellow lovers of NBC!! It really is an amazing film that can be watched again and again!

StarlingsInSummer · 08/10/2019 18:55

We watch it every year while we’re trimming the tree.

SoFloofy · 08/10/2019 19:05

I've tried watching it, but couldn't get into it all. Sorry

LadyJadeyJade93 · 12/11/2019 12:58

It is one of my fav films, love it. Not to everyone's taste but i love the story, the music and the animation style. My 5 year old nephew loves all the Jack Skellington things I have alround the house, but he is yet to sit down and watch it with me, might try this christmas
