Do you remember hiding behind the sofa as a teenager when you first watched Jaws? Well, this film is nothing like that at all.

It is tediously dull and boring - not in the least bit scary - and, well, tediously dull and boring, really. Not much more to say about it. It is very very boring - rather like this review.

Please don't waste a night out it.

Myself and dh wasted a rare night out on seeing a film like that. It was called The Village, we thought we could cuddle up on the back row and be scared whitless but instead were not scared at all and was'nt what expected. We should have waited for it to come out on dvd. I'll make a note of your film.

I went to see it last night and it was not quite what I was expecting. The film has been made in an extremely low key, deadpan style. It's not scary in the usual sense, but both dp and I found it playing on our minds later in the night and through the day today. We were both a bit nonplussed by it at first, but then agreed it was one of those odd films that affects you on a more subtle level.

Definitely not one for a night of escapist entertainment. If you can ignore the hype, it's an interesting bit of film making imo.

I had a copy on DVd, felt the same way as spacemonkey, kept thinking about it the next day.
