Has anyone watched this?

I'm halfway through and the father is so annoying. She is struggling and he is gaming and leaving her to it.

What were your thoughts?

Loved it.

Blown away by the twist.

Scifi101 · 24/01/2019 18:36

@Calzone

I did not see that twist coming at all and usually I spot them a mile off!!

I was annoyed by the useless father too. And obviously things are different in the US but didn't think they school were great with the older boy either.

Calzone · 24/01/2019 22:47

@scifi101 I sat there speechless.

I went on my own so had no one to discuss it with.

Scifi101 · 24/01/2019 23:02

@Calzone

I watched it at home so didn't have the focus you have at the cinema.

When her husband was at the reception desk at the hospital and said her maiden name I thought what?!?!

His character really annoyed me. How you can love someone and watch them going under while you have time for video games etc

Yes one of the best films ive seen on Sky for ages. Charlize is just brilliant she is never afraid to be natural is she?

NotSorry · 13/02/2019 09:11

saw it last year at cinema - thought it was fantastic - loved the ending

TulipsTulipsTulips · 13/02/2019 09:14

I watched it recently and loved it, really connected with this film. Charlize is amazing.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 13/02/2019 09:17

Amazing film, the twist was amazing too and I didn't see it coming. Charlize played the part brilliantly, the film should be a lot more famous than it currently is

RomanticFatigue · 13/02/2019 09:20

I didn't know this was a film. I read the book years ago and loved it. Is it just on Sky or can I find it on Netflix?

EachandEveryone · 13/02/2019 13:58

I don’t think it’s the film of that book tbh. I’m only saying that because I have a book called Tully about a girl brought up in a very chaotic household and the film definitely never rang a bell with me

reindeermania · 27/02/2019 22:29

Am I alone in hating it?!! What's the message?! The cunt of a "dad" is also a cunt of a husband and the woman who struggles like fuck is the only one punished. She's delusional and a danger to herself and the children. And she suffers and nearly dies because of it. She's the hero I suppose? Maybe? She comes through happy with her mediocrity and her shitty marriage and frankly poor parenting.
I think the man should be punished for his utter selfishness and ignorance and cuntery.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 27/02/2019 22:39

I have the book! I loved it as a teen.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 27/02/2019 22:46

But it's not this Grin.
A film of Tully the book would be fab.
