Absolutely excellent.

Christian Bale and Amy Adams were brilliant.

Lots of real life facts and film.

Highly recommended.

Just seen it on my Unlimited card, really good. Only criticism is sometime the satire was a bit heavy handed.

Worth staying for the postscript after the credits.

I missed the PS - please explain.

Urwotu8t · 26/01/2019 21:43

Remember the focus group? The post script is the focus group discussing the film and ending in a fist fight.

chemenger · 26/01/2019 22:27

Saw it last week, very good. We almost missed the PS, we were half way out of the cinema when it came on. I saw it in Boston, I’m not sure how it will play in more republican parts of the USA. Quite a chilling story really.

Just seen this. Very much in the style of The Big Short, same director and both with Christian Bale and Steve Carrell. A bit too much inter cutting for me but good nonetheless. CB is excellent and the physical transformation is amongst his most radical.

Scary how so much of what goes on in the world, and gets people killed, is totally manipulated and often fabricated to assure power and profit for the few.

It was OK, bit overrated. I thought he laboured the Iraq war sub plot.

InfiniteVariety · 27/01/2019 20:07

I also enjoyed this film enormously

ladymarian · 28/01/2019 18:33

I saw this today and really enjoyed it. I found it fascinating and shocking! I studied post-war American political history years ago at uni so I'm very interested in the subject matter but I think most people would find it interesting. I thought Christian Bale and Amy Adams were both great but I think Steve Carrell should have been Oscar nominated instead of Sam Rockwell. His Donald Rumsfeld was brilliant!
I would recommend this film

Just back from this.

I thought the make up artists did a brilliant job, the way they captured the aging skin was outstanding. Amy Adams’ transformation from young to old was very convincing. I go to the cinema a lot and enjoyed this, DH doesn’t go as much and was disappointed.

WitchesGlove · 24/02/2019 20:14

Very good, better than I thought, but felt very long, could have done with it being a bit shorter

borntobequiet · 05/03/2019 09:13

Very good and unnnerving to see how the way to Trump was paved.

oldmum22 · 09/03/2019 22:17

Just back from seeing this . Not what I was expecting and to be honest I didn't really enjoy it . I am glad I went to see it and credit where credit is due, the ageing process on the characters was brilliant.

Superb film. Some parts made for extremely uncomfortable viewing re the right wing policies that Cheney et al pushed through.

I wonder what Cheney made of the film.......
