What did you think?
I'm a Colette obsessive, but thought they did a good job. I loved the bit at the end where she reads part of The Vagabond, one of my favourite books.
Given that they could only take part of her amazing life, I thought it was done fairly faithfully. Though I think the end notes should have said that she left Missy, who comitted suicide.
I still don't see K Knightley as Colette. For a start Colette had a broad Burgundian accent (and played on it), so it would have made sense for KK to have spoken with a broad rural accent.
But, appart from the niggles, I thought it was good.

I have just seen it. I don't know anything about her. I think I read Cheri decades ago.

I was fairly bored. I thought Keira Knightly was unconvincing and wooden. The only time she showed any passion was the final scene when she confronts him about selling the copyright. The sets and the costumes were lovely.

Oh goodness yes. What an omission. I liked Missy. The part was small but she was more convincing than the 2 leads.

We liked it and I thought KK was good. It was very pretty, we enjoyed spotting the scenes based on impressionist paintings.

Just came back from this & really enjoyed it. Far preferred it to The Favourite.

Saw this tonight and really enjoyed it. Based on a true story and acted well, I was impressed. Denise Gough played a great 'Missy'. Glad I didn't miss this one.
