It's an adaptation of Che Guevara's diaries chronicling a riotous motorbike trip from Argentina to Venezuela with his mate. Starring the GORGEOUS gael garcia benal. I can't wait to see it!

Saw bits of it on the tv and it looks good.

CountessDracula · 03/09/2004 20:05

I saw it last weekend, it's brilliant. Highly recommended from the drac household. Even raving fascist Grandpa Drac who moaned about bloody commies beforehand (can't believe I'm his dd!!) really enjoyed it!

kalex · 03/09/2004 20:12

Folks went to see it last Friday. Dad only went coz Che Guevara rode a Norton, and that's his fave bike in the world, they loved it.

Just need to find a babysitter, since they have gone on holiday with DP's mum. My two babysitters away at the same time .

But next year we are all going .

Totally off topic!

Will probably have to wait 4 the DVD

CountessDracula · 03/09/2004 20:14

Kalex my dad came cos of the Norton connection too - he is a founder member of the Norton owners' club and was shrieking with laughter about how awful their bike was!

kalex · 03/09/2004 20:49

CD there is Norton cycle club. I must remeber this and get my Dad membership, the really sad thing is, he is a total bike freak, has a mag delivered once a month (don't know the name) it was his first ever bike. If you ever want to break into any of his accounts NORTON is his password. (always thought it was the Antivirus thing )

But he has Muscular Dystrophy, and can't even walk now let alone ride a bike. So I think the film really brought back his young free days.

kalex · 03/09/2004 20:50

CD, please send the link for the club, my dad would love it. And rereading the post it wasn't meant to be a downer, he's a fab guy, who enjoys life to the full.

CountessDracula · 03/09/2004 20:59

Ahhh that's lovely kalex! I don't know if he is still a member, he rode one in teh 50s and had one when I was young (an old 50s one). Their website is www.noc.co.uk

w this on Saturday, and really enjoyed it. It's gentle, whimsical, easy on the eye, and I got a real sense of the journey that as idealistic, enthusiastic young men, led them to the routes they took later in their lives. It has it's 'boggy' bits - one too many 'comic crashes' in the early part of the film, and a rather sentimental 'laughing happy lepers' scenario at the end, but in a sense, that reflected the burning impression that they could 'make a difference'.

kalex · 15/09/2004 23:25

Well, Have just seen it, and I loved it!
I thought it was a wonderful filmed moving film. I actually know nothing about Che Guevara [shame]
But shall be doing some reading in the next couple of weeks
