Can any one recommend a film to watch with my 12year old daughter - she’s Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts daft so something along those lines would be good.

Miss Peregrine

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2018 16:48

Or, for a wild card - has she seen The Goonies?

user1981287 · 02/11/2018 18:12

If she hasn't that's negligent parenting!

Lovelydovey · 02/11/2018 18:13

Percy Jackson?

IHeartKingThistle · 02/11/2018 18:14

Yep DS went from Harry Potter to Percy Jackson and is now obsessed with that. Loads of books but only 2 films though.

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 18:16

A third recommendation for Percy Jackson, but only if she's read some of the books first. (The books are a million times better than the films)

Musicalmistress · 02/11/2018 20:48

Seems great minds think alike - also watched miss peregrine which she liked, Percy J we enjoyed but she was less keen.
Don’t get me started on the goonies- been trying for a while & finally got her to watch the whole film...she was unimpressed - I swear sh must be a changeling!!!

Labyrinth.

Have you watched the Netflix TV series of a series of unfortunate events. It's fantastic.

MyfanwyMontez · 03/11/2018 12:11

Has she seen Inkheart? I think it’s brilliant. I know they are not remotely Potteresque but Spirited Away or Howl’s Moving Castle might appeal.

user1981287 · 03/11/2018 13:54

Inkheart is good. As is Stardust

CountFosco · 03/11/2018 13:58

We got Spiderwick and Stardust in a cheap set from Amazon here. Not sure who paired them with Hotel for Dogs but never mind!

katie23913 · 04/11/2018 21:32

I'm a big Harry Potter fan and I loved Once Upon A Time on Netflix. I would recommend that. Plus there is about 7 seasons so if you enjoy it you have plenty there to keep you busy for while.

Legend - the Tom Cruise movie

user1981287 · 06/11/2018 08:53

Legend hasn't stood the test of time really though.

Worth a look just to marvel at the amount of surgery TC has had..

Feefeetrixabelle · 06/11/2018 09:29

Bridge over terabithia

AdamNichol · 06/11/2018 10:26

Stretching the theme, but Krull?

hypatiently · 06/11/2018 10:39

hypatiently · 06/11/2018 10:46

MyfanwyMontez · 06/11/2018 10:50
