Pride and Prejudice - the Keira Knightley one

I watched this again this week and really enjoyed it. Does anyone else like this version?
When I first saw it I hated Keira K - thought she was all wrong for Elizabeth - but I've changed my mind now, she's won me over.

But Wickham is not great casting imo. Very wooden and stiff necked. Implausible as competition for Darcy I think.
Wickham should have some dark magnetism shurely? A bit of Alan Rickman's charm with someone's looks who is gorgeous, can't think of who!

I don't see Hugh G as Wickham either quite, Sean Bean has more of that sexy menace thing that Wickham should have
cad/bounder/dangerous to know/wicked and irrisistable. Maybe it's uncastable!

But to me Wickham turns out to be weak which is how I see HG's characters. (Don't like them much either. Sean Bean is more Darcy than Wickham to me.

I agree - maybe the best Wickham would be the Greg Wise character in S&Sensibility - really plausibly dashing but an utter turd at heart.
