Tickets sales have opened.

May the fourth be with you.

I'm not a massive Star Wars fan, but went with DS. I thought it was ok, but nothing special.

I wasn't sure about the bloke playing Han to start with but as it went on I started to see some of Harrison Ford's mannerisms. Enjoyed Woody Harrison and Donald Glover but thought Emilia Clarke was a really poor choice. Is her acting that bad in Game of Thrones?

Loved Chewie. I want a wookie.

I've just remembered another highlight; the army recruitment ad which had a version of the Imperial March in a major key (which made it sound rousing and uplifting rather than ominous).

I was entertained, but most of it was predictable. Although there was that constant feeling of "oh look the..." And "ah, that's how and why..." Bar baddie overlord. I really didn't see that coming but nobody else seemed to gasp in the audience.

I thought the Wookie sequence was too rushed. Was that his wife or not? Damn.

I enjoyed it. I thought Amelia Clarke wasn't great. I've never seen GOT so I couldn't place her at all. I thought she was Miley Sirus actually.
There is no spoiler alert on this thread but I didn't get the but at the end when she talked to the hologram of that character from episode 1. Didn't he get killed in Episode 1 or am I remembering it wrong???? Is so then he would have been dead by the time Han Sols was an adult.
Anyway
The feminist robot was a bit ridiculous but I liked Han, Lando and I love Woody Harrelson.
Over all it was fun and an interesting spin about where the stolen money went. So basically Han funded the rebellion.

I looked online for an explanation of why that character was still alive. It's incredibly complicated and it involves the cartoon series, etc.
It did feel a bit random, though.
As was Solo being such a nice guy. It would have been more on character him being cheated out of the money by the Proto-Resistance kids. Or even changing his mind at the last minute following a desperate plea. Or demanding a cut because they did collaborate.

Didn't he get killed in Episode 1 or am I remembering it wrong????

In the many cartoon and comic spin offs, no he got brought back and is part cyborg. I kept looking to see what his legs were made of!

and nobody confronted him about the use of parsecs

I thought that was to make amends from episode 4 when Han Solo brags about he ‘speed’ of the millennium falcon in ‘distance’ incorrectly and in fact was talking about the daring short cut he took.

I really enjoyed it. I thought the Parsecs thing was actually cleverly dealt with in that they had to find a more direct but dangerous rather than a convoluted but safer route to the final planet so it could make sense!

I'm probably not going to rush to see it at the cinema. May watch it when it comes on TV. Maybe there's a little difficulty imagining anyone in the role apart from Harrison Ford. Reminds me a bit of my feelings towards the new Star Trek films when they came out... although I did watch, and enjoy, them eventually.
