Misleading film titles

The Pursuit Of Happyness. A bloody miserable film.

Funny People. Wrist-slashingly depressing.

Joy. Dispiriting.

And one that isn't necessarily over-hyped by the title, but certainly by the publicity...Slumdog Millionaire. Billed as the "feel-good movie of the year", it featured a heartwarming scene of a child in poverty having his eyes gouged/burned out.

What are your worst offenders?

Hmm Don't you find our something about a film before you go?
eg Joy was the name of the main character, a real person - when I saw it I therefore didn't go with the expectation the title was indicating it was necessarily a "joyful" film!
I haven't seen the other films you mention but haven't you heard of irony? Some film titles might be ironic

The pursuit of happiness is exactly what it says in the title Hmm

eg the Italian film "Life is Beautiful" set in a Nazi concentration camp in which a father tries as best he can to give his son a happy existence despite the horrors all around them.

Funny Games - really not funny

Downsizing - I saw no trailers for this and genuinely thought it was going to be about Matt Damon moving into a bungalow
