Amazing concept but abysmal story.

Has anyone else seen it? I kept nodding off in the middle it was so boring.

Oh no, I was looking forward to seeing this. The trailer looked interesting and it's a great premise!

I've seen it, I enjoyed it for the most part, the only bit that dragged a bit for me was the boat trip near the end. Loved Christoph Waltz and Hong Chau's characters.

I like Alexander Payne's films usually and thought this looks like a great concept, but have heard a few people say it's boring. Might skip it. Thanks for the warning.

Hong Chau is an amazing actress. The only good thing about this movie.

I enjoyed it on the whole. I liked the concept but came out of the cinema quite depressed with the ending.

NapQueen · 04/02/2018 19:53

The concept was very interesting and I enjoyed the beginning where it was all set up. After that it was meandering and boring. Matt Damon’s character was rather one dimensional. I think it was a brilliant idea in need of a much better plot.

I enjoyed it more than I enjoyed The Post. I found it quite thought provoking but it wimped out generally eg voting rights, people running out of funding, social issues with downsizing being used as a punishment. I think a far more interesting film could have been made.
