Thinking about watching this later but seeing as it's quite long I don't want to waste my time. I have heard a lot of people saying it's more funny/cheesy than scary (I like to be scared!!) which is disappointing as the advert looked so good. I haven't seen the original btw.

No I genuinely only had one scared moment. But it was a good show. I guess I was alot younger when the original came out so obviously was more scared of that one.

Oh that’s a shame. I think I’ll watch it anyway but save it for another day then. I want to watch something scary tonight!

I watched it on DVD today and so glad I didn't bother paying cinema money to do so.

Cinematically fab, and great acting by the young cast.

However, it's hard to believe that the writers had ever read the novel. A sodding shambles.

I actually really liked it, we watched the original recently and I thought the new version was better. The casting was much much better.

I didn't like they brought rape of the girl into it. In the original the Dad was just an angry man. There was no need to bring him wanting to rape his daughter into it.

It isn't scary at all.

Also a couple of the cast wouldn't even need to be in the movie. The nervous kid who kills himself in the original has no spot in the new one. Barely talks at all. The same with the black boy with the gun. Speaks maybe three lines. Pointless.

I did like the clown's makeup better in this one though. But you still can't beat Tim Curry.
