We have just been.

Thought it was really good. Very much like Stranger Things and charming. Not a scary film, but very entertaining nonetheless.

Child actors were brilliant, especially the girl. Our teens loved it.

HalfShell I'd watch it again too and that's coming from someone who rarely watches films and hadn't been to the cinema since the final Harry Potter was released.

HalfShellHero · 12/09/2017 19:25

Its so well done isnt it Madison? I loved Richie! And Bill Skaarsgard was phenomenal..

Jonsnowsghost · 12/09/2017 19:29

Loved it, am a huge Stephen King fan too. Though my favourite bit was the New Kids on the Block poster on the door Grin made me properly laugh

MadisonAvenue · 12/09/2017 19:31

Richie was fantastic, all of the kids were though! I was reading an article yesterday about Chapter 2 and how it hasn't actually been agreed yet by Warner Bros but writing is ongoing for it and really they need to get filming ASAP as the kids are quickly growing up and they need to film their flashback scenes before they age too much.

HalfShellHero · 12/09/2017 19:32

All the kids were great tbh x

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/09/2017 19:47

YY to the poster - lovely moment!

Andrena92 · 13/09/2017 20:40

I really want to see it but none of my family want to. Is it sad to go cinema on my own or shall I just wait till it's out on DVD?

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 14/09/2017 08:47

No I love going to the cinema on my own! Do it.

farfarawayfromhome · 14/09/2017 09:03

jesus - you are all so brave!

i saw bits of the trailer and was terrified, i couldn't watch the full film.

stranger things gave me nightmares for weeks!

Andrena92 · 14/09/2017 10:53

I'm gonna do it! I'm going cinema on my Todd to see it next week 👌🏼

NikiBabe · 15/09/2017 17:31

Just saw it. Very good and child actors were incredible.

mishfish · 19/09/2017 16:13

I'm the worlds biggest baby and made an absolute fool of myself watching this. Jumping, shrieking, whimpering, crying (at the end with Georgie). Nearly walked out the cinema at one point.

I thought it was really fab, but a bit too relentless for me. I'm the actors were absolutely fantastic.

lavenderbees · 27/09/2017 21:34

It's ok but somehow lacking in substance. It relys too much on jump shocks and not enough on suspense or melancholy. The character build up is long and detailed but somehow shallow. Each scene jumps from one shock to another without any coherent connection. A disappointment. It also relies too heavily on CGI which ruins it for me.

lavenderbees · 27/09/2017 21:35

BlueLagoons · 29/09/2017 13:09

I watched it last night. I found the first half really scary and the second half not at all. There was some brilliantly scary scenes and others that were pretty formulaic. The scene with Georgie and the paper boat was very sinister and shocking.

The guy who played PW was brilliant and I enjoyed his version of IT. The kids were also brilliant, particularly the girl who played Bev. I really enjoyed the film but I definitely think that the original series was creepier.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/10/2017 12:03

I saw it yesterday as it was the only thing on I fancied which I hadn't seen. I really liked it. The ensemble acting was fabulous, especially Bill and Beverley but all the children were good.

Possibly anything looks good after Mother ! but it was a million times better than that film.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/10/2017 12:08

(I found the girl's father to be more scary than the clown)

Well , yes of course. I haven't read the book but I took it from that that Beverley is the one who had the strength to survive the very real danger in her life and it is her courage which gives the others the strength when together not to be afraid.

missyB1 · 01/10/2017 12:14

I saw it on Friday night with DH. It was a good film but not very scary. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were played really well, there are a few jump out of your seat moments.

ISaySteadyOn · 01/10/2017 12:15

Mishfish, I spent half the film with my eyes shut. That beginning scene was awful. However, if the point of a horror film is to scare you, then IT did a good job.

However, Finn Wolfhard has now been in two things where he has had to spend a lot of time being an 80s child. Wonder if switching between centuries is weird. Smile
