Help! Currently annoyed beyond belief, need film buffs!

I apologise in advance because the following is going to be a bit vague but it's all I have to go on!

I've been rattling my brain for days trying to think of the name of a film and all I know about it is that the DVD case is red (I think!) with a male on the front cover that has a really long fringe, side parting and a bit of a sweaty, nerdy look about him. The film is definitely American but I'm not even sure if I've ever seen it so don't know what it's about!

I'd be so grateful if someone could help with this, it's driving me insane - all this because a photo on Facebook reminded me of this film; thinking I must have seen the cover on Netflix or similar but have trawled through and found nothing!

Please help before I drive myself insane!

Thank you both but neither of those, I'm starting to think I've made this film up but I can see it so clearly in my head! I keep thinking it's about a nerdy high school boy (think - typical American high school film) but I have no idea why because I've never seen it!

I keep thinking its Napeloen Dynamite but definitely not - along the same nerdy/geeky sort of lines! Really appreciate all your suggestions, I can't believe how much this is bothering me!
