Viola Davis in 'How to get away with murder' is beyond brilliant.

Also, Maura Tierney in The Affair - I think she acts much better than Dominic West and Ruth Wilson. She is just the right amount of fucked up.

An old one, but Jeremy irons as twins in Dead Ringers. eerie.

Loved Stranger Things and Winona was fantastic.

My nomination goes to Matthew McConaughey in True Detective. He was phenomenal. He's come a long way since early 00's Rom Coms.

I also really rate Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and of course Bryan Cranston in BB

Just started watching Stranger Things and really loving it, also Ripper St. Marking place on this thread coz i'm looking for something new to watch, up to date with all my regular series. X

Stranger things was brilliant - have just binge watched it and gutted it is over. WR was fantastic, and all the children were good esp Eleven... Now need to find something else to watch... Any suggestions?

Robin Wright is fantastic in House of Cards. Icy, robotic, hypnotic - brilliant. Cate Blanchett is mesmerising in Carol - there's a scene at the end where she just maintains eye contact with someone and I think it's the most powerful and emotive gaze. Her while performance is amazing.

Dames Judy Dench and Maggie Smith are THE best actors of our times!

We watched The Queen for the first time last week and Helen Mirren was great, but Michael Sheen was absolutely brilliant as Tony Blair. Actually, he's been great in everything I've ever seen him in.

The main actress in Tallulah was great , as was Alison Janney

I know it's not a movie, but Sarah Lancashire in Happy Valley was completely addictive. Just amazing acting.

Tom Hardy in anything.

Eddie yes I love Michael Sheel. Phenomenal as Brian Clough in The Damned United and as David Frost in Frost Nixon

I loved the Happy Valley series, and Sarah Lancashire is brilliant.....but I wish she didn't mumble so much!

Terrence Howard in Empire, he is wonderful as the man you love to hate. I have a bit of a crush on him too

Billy Bob Thornton in Fargo season one and Kirsten Dunst in Fargo season 2. Stunning performances, especially her.

Stranger Things was great but i confess it was Winona that made me start it! Have always loved her.

Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation game was amazing too. Also Parades End.

I have to say though Michael Sheen is my number one actor. There's no one like him and I will watch him in anything. He makes it look effortless.

Charlize Theron in Monster.

Matthew Kelly and Pauline Quirke, both in their roles as serial killers - utterly believable and chilling.

Jerome Flynn is an awesome actor, as is Bob Odenkirk - he shone in Better Call Saul, I love that show and the extra depth it gave Saul Goodman's character.

WeeMe and Jiggly - YY! Christian Slater is fantastic. Are you both on S2? Verryyy dark. Rami Malek is v good too but not seen him in anything else to measure against.
