I was lucky enough to see this on Sunday - it was marvellous! A long time coming but so worth it. Very sweet and funny - definitely brought back everything that was great about Finding Nemo. The new characters were brilliant too - particularly loved Dominic West and Idris Elba as the lazy sealions. Grin

I was going to take my 9 year old daughter but a friend said she'd heard that there was a warning for fostered/adopted children. I split with my ex wife 6 years ago when my daughter was 3 and since then my ex has not wanted any contact with her (she doesn't even send birthday cards). Do you think the film would be suitable or should avoid it?

Heath - it's all about searching for your real parents that miss you. Tough call.

I found it quite tedious as is the way of some small kids films with little that kept my interest. But my daughter loved it!

I don't think there is a problem with the movie. For people who loved Finding Nemo, this one is a also nice.

TinyTear · 01/08/2016 12:22

There is no warning. One person did a FB post and others shared it.

Not all parents are looking for the child that disappeared, these ones in the film were... that's it

There have been media articles regarding the suitably of the film for adopted children. These have been picked up and publicised by certain charities concerned with adoption. It is a bit more than an odd Facebook post here and there.

A friend of mine has been raving about it on teepee. I have a five year old and am planning to take him, but he's not the bravest soul. Are there any 'scary' bits?

I'm obviously not the target market but the dc's (9 & 7) seemed to like it. Not as good as Nemo though.

The octopus was funny Grin .

I found this a mediocre, deeply disappointing sequel. "Finding Nemo," for me, maybe possibly be the best animated film I've ever seen, not just a touching story, but clever enough for adults. I found almost nothing clever about this, and possibly too complicated and muddled for small children. And not even particularly charming or touching. It just seemed like an effort to wring some more profit by a spin-off.
