Enjoyed this very much, very funny in parts and overall a feel good movie. It's also good to find a 12A film that isn't superhero or animated. So many appealing films are 15s and we can't take DD. Despite some similarities with The Commitments e.g. Set in Dublin about a band, it is much lighter. We are told a bit about the characters without too much detail and a lot of time is taken up with music. The 80s setting is well done and the changing look and clothes as the kids experiment is very entertaining. At first it's not obvious, but the film is largely about the relationship of two brothers. I agree with all you've said, a many layered film, saw it with my 15 year old dd, we both loved it but got slightly different things from it.

Made me smile - after a rough week at work, that was an achievement

Not showing at many cineworlds which disappoints me - wanted to take kids in half term.
