What age do you let your DCs watch superhero films and Star Wars?

DS is 8, hugely into superheros and has asked about Star Wars. I know they are all 12s. I've watched some superhero films (not many), not interested in Star Wars, he has watched loads of those Star Wars cartoon things with DH.

We have let him watch Harry Potter and Jurassic World.

What age did you let yours watch these films? And what reason did you say no if you didnt let them and they were my DS's age?

Dc 6 and 9 have seen all the Star Wars. DP showed them the original trilogy when some of ds1's friends at school were playing star wars and he didn't know what it was. Then they saw episodes 1-3 over the last year. Episode 3 is actually really sad (P being betrayed etc) and ds1 finds it sad but it goes over ds2's head.

My oldest is 4 and has been 'watching' it for a while
Our youngest is actually a Star Wars Baby so is just over one and will be watching it as soon as he's got more of an attention span than the average 1 year old attention span
I've always watched it as has their dad so we have no problem with them watching it
