Took my DD to see this earlier - it was absolutely brilliant! Idris Elba as shere khan was perfectly menacing. I can't think of a more perfect voice match for a character in an animated film. Even though you know the story it's really griping & I just thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would highly recommend it!SmileStarStarStar

It's wonderful isn't it! Gripping and moving. Visually stunning. I hadn't seen the trailer before we went this evening so I had no idea what to expect. Took my son as he's reading the book at school - myself and my 10 year old were thoroughly enthralled.

My ds and I thoroughly enjoyed it too.

I went last night with DP and dd (age 13). We all really enjoyed it - although DP was unimpressed that they included a few animals that don't live in India. I thought that the boy who played Mowgli was really good and the actors chosen for the voice-over roles were all just perfect for their characters.

PG was definitely the right classification. dd definitely wouldn't have coped with it when she was little. There were a few times when we really jumped and I was glad we were only watching the 2d version!

I absolutely loved it too. Beautifully done. Ds2 jumped about a foot in one particular scene Grin. Definitely would be scary for many little ones

I took my 6 year old to see it in 3D. I spoke to lots of friends who had seen it and taken their kids of the same age and said it was jumpy but fine. Bloody hell we jumped out of our seats loads! The certificate said "mild threat" but it felt much more than mild to me.

That said it was visually gorgeous. We both loved it but in hindsight it was a bit too old for my boy (and 3D wasn't the best idea), although he wouldn't agree with me!

Heard very good things about this film, and I'm excited to go see it with DH. I'm especially impressed by the cast, I think Bill Murray and Idris Elba are perfect casting choices!

Does anyone know who's playing Mowgli? An unknown?

We went with our son (26) and enjoyed it. I loved the references to the cartoon while being faithful to the book . Interesting that they end with him not going to live with men - I see Jungle Book 2 as a possibility.

My DD went (she is in her twenties) and told me she cried three times and loved it! I think it really appeals to this sort of age because they grew up with the cartoon version

I am so excited to see this film after reading your comments!

I really loved most of the film, but I found the King Louie song awkward, and Kaa the snake was only in one short scene. I loved the tiger and the panther. The whole film is really visually stunning CGI.
