Capture The Flag ... unsuitable language for a PG?

Took DCs (5 & 8) today, was a bit hmmm at some of the language for a PG. Maybe I am just an old prude but 'rat's ass' spoken out loud and 'oh, crap!' as a subtitle were a little surprising. I didn't care for 'old fart' either but I know that is just me.

My 8yo, kept saying in the car on the way home 'Mum, there was a bad word on the screen', I know it is the least worst of the bad words but surely not necessary at all, could have been any of a number of different phrases that weren't swears

So anyone else seen it and feel the same way or shall I just resign myself to being a pearl clutcher?

I saw it and didn't notice those words actually. Umm, I wouldn't have been happy with "crap" if I had. I saw it at the cinema though so maybe didn't take it in.

The BBFC does say; "there is mild bad language, such as ass, smart ass, and crap. There is also very mild bad language including uses of freaking, moron, fart, butt, hell, jeez and damned."

I'm more surprised that the word moron is considered the same as fart and butt....

I actually don't class shit and SOB to be mild and way worse than ass and crap, shame as there goes most of the films made for kids as don't most of them get a PG for one reason or another?

I don't know if it helps at all but the BBFC lists things of note about each film so you could review their first and check the language?

I'm surprised at some of the ones they count as mild!

thanks anchor seems that is what I need to do, I didn't even think of that and yes seems I am somewhat out of touch with what is mild. I still wouldn't utter any of those worse in the presence of either my DCs or my parents which surely is the test as to if it is OK in a kids film or not? Just glad it was a one time view and not something we had downloaded to watch over and over again!
