Years and years ago, when the children were small and I worked part time, I started watching a film one morning but didn't see the end as I had to go to work.
It was made in the thirties (I am guessing), black and white obviously.
It was the story of a woman getting married and the lives of the people who were involved in the wedding but not the family. So, the background story of the lady that made her dress, and the girl that sold the necklace she was going to wear etc.
All I can remember is that Joan Hickson (as a very young lady) was in it.
I would love to find it and see how it ended.
