I am trying to create a list of children's films that were produced in the UK. It's proving trickier than I thought! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wombling Free the Movie!
The BFG, with David Jason
The Wallace and Gromit ones
Chicken Run
The Wind in the Willows (1996)
The Wind in the Willows (1983)

Possibly some Fireman Sam ones, and possibly some Bob the Builder feature-length stuff?

Fungus the Bogeyman, with Martin Cloones

Possibly Five Children and It (2004), perhaps partically.

The Forgotten Toys
Second Star to the Left
First Snow of Winter

The Princess and the Goblin

The Railway Children (1970)

Arthur Christmas (partially)
The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996) (perhaps partically)

Digby the Biggest Dog in the World...Although this is a rubbish film!

The Snowman / The Bear / Father Christmas

Animated Beatrix Potter stuff, available on Youtube.

Famous Fred, with Lenny Henry - Also available on Youtube. Some of these suggestions are short, but they are British.

Ballet Shoes, with Emma Watson

Hope that helps Smile

Harry Potter are Warner Bros, that's not british, is it?

Isn't this googleable?

Snazarooney · 16/04/2016 17:43

Thanks so much!

I did extensive google searches but it wasn't straightforward if I recall correctly.

They were filmed and produced here I believe. Warner themselves aren't British but everything thing else was.
Just like all the Star Wars films were mainly made here.

All of the HP films were done completely in UK and Ireland with only British actors. It was one of JKR's demands when she sold the stories.

RiverTam · 16/04/2016 18:17

Oh yes, I realise that, I just didn't know if WB would be the producers, which wouldn't make them British films, would it? Never know how that kind of thing works with films.

CustardLover · 16/04/2016 23:14

Heyday Films produced it (producer was David Heyman, also did Paddington), WB was the studio. What do you mean by produced in the UK, OP? There is a significant children's film industry in the UK (eg filmed and made here) but if you discount all those attached to Hollywood studios (WB, Universal, Columbia etc) you're going to narrow your list dramatically!
