I have a colleague whose DS is a couple of weeks older than mine (they're 7) and is really into James Bond (the child). His dad (my colleague) swears that his son is well into James Bond and has seen all the Sean Connery and Roger Moore films, and has a tiny tux for 007 fancy dress whenever the opportunity arises.

I'm a bit Hmm. I can't imagine showing my DS any James Bond films- especially not the Sean Connery and Roger Moore ones - not so much the action/shooting etc, but they're a bit fruity in parts!

I agree. Our DC are 12 and 11 and curious. We are thinking of showing them one soon, trying to decide which would be most suitable. I wouldn't have considered letting them see James Bond 5 years ago!

Glad I'm not being a prude! Maybe 007's "entertaining" goes over my colleague's DS's head? I think my first Bond was A View to a Kill - I remember the Aha soundtrack. It was released in 1985, so I was 14 or 15.

I will show Spectre when it is out on dvd so I can fast forward the train scene.

Christ, I can remember having to watch the Connery and Moore films with my parents as a child and being awfully embarrassed by the rude scenes. Of which there seemed to be many!

I always saw James Bond as a borderline sex pest.

Look at how he 'overpowers' women.

I'm not keen. Adult films, really. The Matrix and similar are far more approriate.

Same here, my DD loves the whole spy thing, but shes only been allowed to waych some of Live and let die, she loves the gadgets and the car/boat chases, but the violence shooty stuff and the sexy sdtuff no way.

wish theyd do a completely edited versions of the films so theyre appropriate for kids. -theyd prob only last 10 mins though Grin.

7yo maybe too early, but 10 should be fine.
Myself i find it too boring for my liking, so probably i'm not the best judge.
