Feel like watching a really heartwrenching romance, ideally not period or warsetting, that really pulls you in.
Loved About Time. Frankie and Johnny.
Quite like teen romances too, loved Fault in our stars, divergent etc.
Grateful for recommendations!
Hubby only watches man films so need to take some time out for a girlie one!

Damn, I was going to suggest About Time Sad. One of my other guilty pleasures is The Break Up, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:25

In Your Eyes was really good. On Netflix!

noblegiraffe · 27/10/2015 11:28

I was about to suggest In your Eyes too! The first film in ages I've seen where I've actually believed the connection between the two main characters....even though they aren't even in the same room. Brilliant, and different.

Jelly101 · 27/10/2015 11:28

I've just realised, that's more of a comedy! Grin. I watched the fault in our stars for he first time last night, it was amazing. How about The Notebook or The Time Travellers Wife?

I'll have a think to see if I can come up with any more suggestions!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:29

The Age of Adaline is a nice one, too, though a bit strange (so is the other one I recommended to be fair!). Only recently came out.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:29

Yes noble the chemistry was brill, and the film had me glued to it!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:31

My mum likes all the Nicholas Sparks stuff, I think she watched The Longest Ride recently and liked it. I think the only one I've seen of his is The Notebook...who doesn't like The Notebook!? Grin

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:32

Oh and Crazy, Stupid, Love I liked. And Silver Linings Playbook. I'll stop now. (I'm a bit movie-mad!)

VulcanWoman · 27/10/2015 11:35

Say Anything. A young John Cusack, 80's film.

VulcanWoman · 27/10/2015 11:39

A lot like love.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:43

Say Anything is great.
You've Got Mail (always gets me in the mood for Autumn)
Once
Begin Again
Amelie
Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind (weird but good)
Safety Not Guaranteed (weird but good)

bruffin · 27/10/2015 11:55

Love Rosie
What If or Ruby Sparks (both Zoe Kazan quirky films)
Begin Again

strawberrypenguin · 27/10/2015 11:56

Serendipity is good a real will they/won't they.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 11:57

bruffin In Your Eyes is Zoe Kazan too if you like her films.

bruffin · 27/10/2015 12:05

Thanks Saga, after this thread was going to see if DH wants to watch it tonight.

CheerfulYank · 27/10/2015 13:11

Oh I love You've Got Mail. I might watch it this weekend. Although I named my dog after the dog in the film (Brinkley) and I haven't watched it since he died last winter. :( Might be sad!

I've heard About Time is good! I'll have to try it. Love romances :) But for some reason can't think of a contribution to the thread Hmm

mintbiscuit · 27/10/2015 13:15

Love story! It makes me bawl every time i watch it.

Oh and 'fifty first dates'. That makes me cry too.

I'm just a big baby really. Blush

Hastagwhatever · 27/10/2015 13:16

The note book.

My heart can't take watching that film.

Ponytailandquiff · 27/10/2015 13:19

Before Sunset set in Paris, really lovely and simple, sequel to After Sunrise

Ponytailandquiff · 27/10/2015 13:20

Sorry Before Sunrise!!

ClaraLane · 27/10/2015 13:25

Think Like A Man is a great rom-com but isn't particularly sad. If you fancy a real sob then A Walk To Remember will have you in floods, it's another Nicholas Sparks one and I love it. Can also recommend Love, Rosie.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 14:29

I've seen Love, Rosie on Netflix so I might give that a go later!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 14:30

Ponytail I love the Sunrise films! They are mostly based on dialogue so you have to be up for that kind of film.

Wtfmummy · 27/10/2015 14:31

The note book!!!

Grab those tissues though x

LovelyFriend · 27/10/2015 14:32

I was going to say at all costs avoid About Time which I consider to be the worst film of the last decade, if not ever! Grin
