Has anyone seen this? Would love to talk about it. One of Charlotte Rampling's best performances.

Haven't seen it but want to! Have heard good things about it

The acting was good but it was as boring as hell!.
I'm nominating it for my worst film of the year so far!

Charlotte Rampling's character 'Kate' was too whiney and I lost sympathy for her, if indeed I had any to begin with.

I would not recommend this film.

I saw this film last week after reading a rave review. it is beautifully acted and the shots of the countryside made me want to escape the city, but it left me feeling a bit, well, empty.
So much was unsaid. I guess that's true in life? Maybe it was a powerful reflection of the reality of marriage. It certainly made me feel a bit sad and determined to drag some colour into my life!

I saw it the other day. I actually quite enjoyed it, but didn't think it deserved the rave reviews. It was at least understated and elegant, but as a pp said, sooo dull. I just couldn't warm to the couple at all. Charlotte Rampling was miserable; Tom Courtenay wasn't much better. It left me feeling a bit frustrated. I expected one of them to actually DO something, like lose their temper or shout, or something. They seemed to be quite intelligent, interesting people potentially but they were just so dull. There was no music, no telly, no apparent interest in anything. I wanted Rampling to say Stfu and get dressed up and head to Town with the Geraldine James character and get bladdered. I can't understand why the party at the end of the film was so well-attended. How come such a dull couple was so popular?

I thought it was fab! You're right- nothing much "happens'... But they just act so well! I was transfixed by the story and the ending. But i badly wanted to see them in a different place... For example, In the alps-him having identified the body of his long dead first love, and the sequelae from this.

I suppose if you're a fan of high energy films it will leave you a bit meh!

So people who saw it....so do we think she left him? My guess is yes.

No" she will have gone back into her rut.
