Is dd (nearly 9) really too young to see the new James Bond film? Are you sure?

I know this has been discussed in other threads, but I can't find the long one that went into the whys and wherefores. We were hoping to make a day of going to see Casino Royale in Leicester Square, with ds aged 12 and dd, nearly 9. She has seen Lord of the Rings (all of them) which are pretty violent and gory and she has not yet turned into a traumatised snivelling wretch. But obviously I don't want to harm her in any way, so I'm inclined to err on the safe side. Is the torture scene really awful? And the deaths? She is v. keen to go...

no tortour scene is Ok quite funny actually. a few violent deaths and a not so violent dath but graphic. dont want to give plot away!

Thanks - I thought if we discussed the probability - or indeed certainty - of violent death etc scenes in advance, it might still be OK for her. We discussed what LOTR would be like before she saw them. And we could have a deal to leave if it was too much.
