Saw Borat over the weekend

Anyone seen 'Borat'. Saw it at the weekend, it was laugh out loud, cringe making, embarassing comedy. Have to say that there are some extremely polite people in USA - apart from the ones on the street and subway.

I was a little sad to hear that the village which featured as his 'home village' had felt they had been had been duped. I thought they were in on it! I felt ok with the USA being duped but not the villagers.

Did enjoy it and thought that 'Borat' put himself in some really dangerous situations - not including swimming with the bear!

We're hoping to see it next week, so thanks for the info.

I'm a bit confused about the villagers saying they were duped, as I thought they filmed all that in a different country entirely? Maybe I got duff info though.

HC, filmed in one the poorest villages in Romania.

It is a no-holds barred film and sometimes you have to catch your breath when he says something really close to the knuckle. You're not sure whether to laugh or not, very imaginative and edited really well.

I have a terrifically low embarrassment threshold. I could only ever watch The Office if I could run in and out of the room

I think SBC is brilliant but Borat didn't grab me.
Didn't seem to work well as a film and definite felt uncomfortable with the Romanian villagers.
No way would those people know why and how they were being filmed.

He's a brave guy though.
