Pitch Perfect 2- spoiler alert!

Rebel Wilson is as fab as usual but I have to admit that this isn't a strong sequel. It seems very underdeveloped and overtly sentimental in a number of places and the romance between fat Amy and bumper seems very out of character. Theres seems lots of story threads that just feel like they are not needed and the accapella competition towards the start of the film just seems thrown in for no reason. As much as I enjoyed it it doesn't live up to the first film. The music too isn't as good.

We really enjoyed it and I embarrassed dh laughing so loudly at the beginning, but i wasnt the only one. It is not quite as good as 1, but it was like a satisfying fix and came out wanting to see it again. My dd 17 felt the same. She was sitting in the front of the cinema with her mates. They all seemed pretty satisfied with it as a sequel as they came out.

I was getting really sick of the "predatory lesbian" and "weird Guatemalan immigrant" jokes. I feel like they lost the essence of the first film. Music nowhere near as good either! I've watched the first several times as a feel good film, wouldn't watch this again!

I saw this at the weekend, we were both laughing our heads off. I do agree with what OP said though. I don't think it was better than the first film but it is still worth watching for a laugh. Rebel makes it though.

I loved it and thought it was better than the first. So funny! I want to watch it again.
