Apparantly it has people fainting in the cinemas a la The Exorcist, surely it's not that bad?!

I have seen the other 2, but close my eyes at the gruesome bits, so not sure why I bother really.

Dh heard an ambulance driver being interviewed on Radio 4 - he keeps getting called out to tend to people leaving the film apparently.

southeastastra · 31/10/2006 20:55

they asked on the radio if it may have been set up and the reporter said i don't think they'd pick stevenage really.

RancidRhubarb · 31/10/2006 21:01

I reckon it's just a load of crap, they did this with the premier of The Exorcist and The Blair Witch Project (which wasn't even scary!) and it's just a big publicity stunt. I'm sure some people do hyperventilate, but then they are the sort that would probably hyperventilate at an episode of Scooby Doo!

It's just pretend! It's not real!

MerlinsBeard · 31/10/2006 21:13

i have a friend who went to the loo to spalsh water on his face while watching Saw 3. he went coz he felt sock and came too with people standing over him. Apparently it gruesome and hes not sqeamish at all

RancidRhubarb · 31/10/2006 21:14

he felt sock? What kind of sock was it?

MerlinsBeard · 31/10/2006 21:15

lol! whoops! i clicked post instead of preview!!

obviously i mean sick!

RancidRhubarb · 31/10/2006 21:16

Don't understand gruesome films - I mean, why?

southeastastra · 31/10/2006 21:17

gawd knows i can't stand tons of torture or blood there seems no point only that they can get away with it now?

RancidRhubarb · 31/10/2006 21:21

And we wonder why we live in a violent state that seems to get more horrific each day! I think it was much better in the days when Psycho was considered too scary for most people!

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 31/10/2006 21:23

not as violent as we used to be......just there wasn't as much 'on tap' media around to report it.....wasn't just the criminals using it - it was the punishments too!

MerlinsBeard · 31/10/2006 21:24

i don't like gruesome films, i don't like blood although i am not squeamish at all. I don't see the point. Why onm earth would you want to watch it?!!

Apparently the 1st ten mins is very blood filled, very gory and very cleverly shot so it looks real, i think thats what the problem is.

RancidRhubarb · 31/10/2006 21:30

Worse than watching someone give birth then? That's really horrible that is!

AshNotTheHousewaresOne · 01/11/2006 09:08

if its anything like the first two they prolly collapsed with boredom.......i mean, its less embaressing to say 'you fainted' during saw 3 than to admit you paid cash to see it....if you're gonna faint during a horror movie for fecks sake make it a good one!

lou33 · 01/11/2006 09:58

MerlinsBeard · 01/11/2006 18:31

lou, don't go. my friend is still abit in shock and he usually loves horror films. Of course, he may be a bit weak but you could always wait until it comes out on dvd!

lou33 · 01/11/2006 20:53

oh boy....

i told him about this thread and he said remember its just a film, and i can cuddle up next to him

is it worht the trauma to get a hug? lol

Spongebob · 01/11/2006 20:53

lou33 · 01/11/2006 22:35

i dont want to go now

but it's mean of me not too when he drives up to see me every weekend

lou33 · 01/11/2006 22:35

not to

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/11/2006 20:00

I think Saw 1 and 2 were really good (i have both on d.v.d) so will deffo go and see it.

I do think it's complete bo**ocks about people being made ill over it!
What do people expect going to see these films surley it's quite obvious that it's gorey!

lou33 · 06/11/2006 23:08

ok so i told him i didnt want to go and see it this weekend and he was convincing me all weekend to go see it, pulled the " i only want to see it with you" excuse out of the bag etc

so we came to a compromise, and rented saw 2 for me to watch at home on the promise that if i could sit through it all i would go with him this saturday to see it

i sat through it all so looks like i'm off to the cinema this weekend lol
