"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get" (Forrest Gump)

I have honestly never seen a box of chocolates (or biscuits) where there's no label to describe each item. and so you always know what you gonna get!
quite unlike life

it irritates me, it should have been "Life is like a tombola" or "Life is like online food delivery service"

love the film, really hate the quote

Grin

you?

I completely agree!! That's always bugged me about that film!

Now if he'd said, "life is like a bag of Revels" it would've made more sense!!

I can't think of any other quotes at the moment......

Never thought about it before but you're right! I love "life is like an online food delivery service" as an alternative!

I will have to have a think about some others!

I meant to respond to this ages ago, but it's true--at least in America. I remember that anytime we had chocolates with pictures and description of contents we always thought they were quite fancy and chocolate.

I also remember the severe disappointment upon discovering, with the first nibble, that my chosen chocolate was filled with cherry or mint or some other dreadful shite. And quickly trying to put it back in the box.

As for movie lines, that ones I always disliked were the ones that were written in the hopes of becoming a catchphrase.

'I'll be back' grew organically, but after that every wannabe hotshot screen writer just had to insert something "cool" and it became soooo awkward.
