I'm having some of the dc's friends (aged 7-10) over on IWD - can anyone suggest any good films that would be suitable (ie girls rock kind of theme or at least with good strong female leads)?

I know there is a dearth of films that fit the criteria but bumping in the hope of inspiration Grin.

Id say
My Neighbour Totoro
Wreck it Ralph,(think Venelope is cool)
Despicable Me (the minions are boys but seem to be always cross dressing)
Lilo and Stitch

There are probably better ones but they are good start and popular with boys and girls in that age group,

Yeah a lot of Studio Ghibli ones would be good - Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle are two I'd add on to My Neighbour Totoro.

All the others I can think of might not be suitable for girls so young

The Croods or Brave are good female role films.

Coraline maybe or is that bit too old?
