Having some 'special time' with DD (6 years) this week as DH is home and can look after the others while we have some 'girlie' time.

Anyway, she wants to go to the cinema. So, what do you reckon? Hoodwinked any good? Its either that or Barnyard.

Whats the vote?

Just been to see it today with dd(7) and ds(9). They both really enjoyed it and thought it was funny. Personally I thought it was fairly mediocre...but then I think that about a lot of kids films.

Troutpout · 24/10/2006 22:25

God i thought it was awful..and the kids got bored too...and all the characters looked like Chucky
but what do i know...I liked Barnyard (so what if a boy cow has udders- he's a new-man-type-boy-cow!)

Polgara2 · 24/10/2006 22:27

Went to see this yesterday with dd's - we all enjoyed it actually! Better than I was expecting given the trailers. There were only 6 of us in the cinema though!!!

Frizombie · 24/10/2006 22:28

Nah we all liked it, its not monsters inc or anything like that, but it passes a few hours in an amusing manner, hey it even entranced a 7.5mth old for the whole showing, so it can't be that bad.
Oh and I wanna be granny when I grow up!

Orlando · 24/10/2006 22:34

5 yr old dd liked it. 8 yr old dd and I thought it was fairly excruciating. (Hoodwinked that is, haven't seen Barnyard, so can't comment.)

Glen Close, I have one question for you.

WHY?

Mateychops · 24/10/2006 22:41

Hoodwinked - atrocious. Fell asleep through it.

I saw Hoodwinked last week and Barnyard today. Barnyard definately gets my vote, I thought it was really good, the kids enjoyed it too!

gscrym · 27/10/2006 18:00

DS and me both thought it was rubbish. We then went to Open Season and he thought bits of it was scary. We're going to try Barnyard next.

copycat · 12/11/2006 22:25

truely AWFUL
skip it please - even the four children I had with me (11, 9, 9 and 8) were bored

YOu know, I really liked this film, and I am not easily pleased when it comes to films. It is a strange one, not typically Disney, but I liked it, and would watch it again.

Saturn74 · 12/11/2006 23:52

DS1 (10) thought it was OK.
DS2 (8) loved it, especially the dramatic bits at the end.
I fell asleep!

There were only the three of us, plus one other family in the whole cinema though, so it might have been better with more people.

(I woke myself up when I snored! )
