... loved it!
My friends dragged me along, I was dreading it tbh. I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Eat Pray Love

But thought it was great! I'm trying to work out why I loved it so much, I think it may partly be because I would give my right arm to take a few months out and do that walk. So actually spent a good part of the film feeling intensely jealous!

But there was definitely more to it. Great acting and a really moving story. Can't wait to read the book now as I read some quotes from it since and it seems beautifully written. Anyone else seen it?

Not seen it but want to. I to love the idea of going and doing an epic journey and have read several books on this theme. Good to hear that it's a good film.

Im halfway through the book and desperate to see the film.

I saw the film last night and loved it too...

I was expecting to be a bit depressed (like Into The Wild a few years ago with Emile Hirsch) but actually, it was quite moving and uplifting, I thought both RW and Laura Dern were outstanding in it. If it wasn't for Julianna Moore I think Reese Witherspoon would get Best Actress.

Saw this right after I read the book - which I highly recommend BTW, very well written.
Film script by Nick Hornsby which is why it avoided sentimentality, I suspect. I took DD (23) as she has just broken up with BF, for reasons not unlike Cheryl Strayed - just in different places. Also took my (male) partner. All enjoyed it. Would defo recommend.

Saw it yesterday, thought it was brilliant. Strong and real female experience, in a voice that really spoke to me.

I didn't love it but quite enjoyed it.

I thought it was annoying that she is undertaking the PCT and yet she didn't
