The woman that styled SATC did the costumes.

dyzzidi · 10/10/2006 21:34

Patricia Field is the stylist and she did do SATC.

Going to see this on Friday with DD who is a fashion student. A proper girlie evening - just the two of us

dueat44 · 11/10/2006 13:45

Saw it last night with friends - hilarious. The cinema was full to busting (but only seven men!) and everyone came out with big silly grins on their faces.

caffeinequeen · 15/10/2006 19:01

Saw this last night- did anyone else have serious hair envy? I know that there's a team of stylists poised with brushes, serum and straightening irons but seriously - it was awesome.
There were quite a few differences from the book but I really enjoyed it- and the fashion was pretty damn good too.
Oh and this is interesting too.

Not seen it yet, but loved the novel.

lemonaid · 16/10/2006 13:27

It was very good, and Meryl Streep must have had so much fun with that role!

Bugsy2 · 16/10/2006 13:44

Fab film loved it. So many gorgeous outfits. Very funny too. Quite dark humour.
I have a friend who works for the Chanel PR department in Paris & she says the movie was kinder than the reality She said no one would really believe what a total bitch fest the fashion mag world really is!!!

Orlando · 16/10/2006 13:48

Great. dds and I loved it.

But could have done with having about 15 minutes edited out. The dds getting restless before the end.

AnnieWilkes · 03/11/2006 12:06

Would this be way beyond a 9 yo girl's enjoyment? I need to take dd to something, but she's seen all the Barnyard/Garfield stuff that's on locally. TIA

TheAngelWearsPrada · 03/11/2006 12:13

i took my dds 15 and 10 they both loved it and want it on dvd ,,,also the fact that the actress is from "princess diaries "helped..
great film

expatinscotland · 03/11/2006 12:16

Anne Hathaway's mouth irks me.

In fact, Anne Hathaway irks me entirely.

And the bloke her plays her boyfriend.

He's gross.

Too much hair. He needs to go and scratch.

So I won't be seeing this film.

The book was okay, though.

holidaymum · 03/11/2006 12:22

The book was better expat! Film was ok thats all though.

expatinscotland · 03/11/2006 12:22

It'd be okay w/o her and that mangy dog who plays her boyfriend, though .

holidaymum · 03/11/2006 12:27

lol it didnt work as well him being a chef in film rather than a teacher either but yes he is rather yuk

expatinscotland · 03/11/2006 12:28

it's all that hair.

i want to hold him down and take a no. 3 clipper out and cut his hair.

holidaymum · 03/11/2006 12:30

makes you think nits! well does me anyway

frumpygrumpy · 03/11/2006 12:31

I think I'm the only freak on the planet that found this film dull, promising but dull, could have said so much more....Meryl Streep played her part excellently though.

expatinscotland · 03/11/2006 12:31

LOL!

Made me think, 'Eeww, he'd give you very hairy babies.'

holidaymum · 03/11/2006 12:33

think of the cast in Johnsons! Mine were all baldies

holidaymum · 03/11/2006 12:33

cost sorry

expatinscotland · 03/11/2006 12:34

So were mine. DD2's hair is starting to come in - she's 10 months - but I adore her smooth round head!

anniebear · 04/11/2006 07:33

It was ok, a good evening out, but it wasn't one of the best films I ahd seen

Plus I like a 'normal' ending!! Boy ends up with Girl etc!!! lol lol
