You can count on me
City of God

Perigrine · 22/07/2006 14:46

Station Agent is brill!! A real slow burner, but the characters are fab. The kind of film you come out of and spend hours discussing!

franch · 22/07/2006 15:32

Just see it southeast!

Thanks Perigrine, had wondered about the constant gardener.

Sideways
Crash (very heavy going)
Walk the Line
Brokeback Mountain
The Notebook (cheesy, but made me weep buckets)

I loved the Station Agent!

phatcat · 22/07/2006 15:58

Dead Man's Shoes

The Notebook
My Summer of Love

mimoyello · 22/07/2006 16:42

My top 3:

  1. China Town (Jack Nicholson at his prime, long before he became rubbish)

  2. The Godfather 1, 2 and 3 (4 is rubbish except for the presence of Al Pacino and Andy Garcia,
2 of the sexiest men on earth)

  3. The Manchurian Candidate (the original one with Frank Sinatra - the man could act as well as sing - a rare talent)

Also:
Shawshank Redemption for feel good factor after you have watched all the above and become really depressed !

The Latins, Japanese, Chinese and Koreans make amazing films - many worth watching even if substitled

brimfull · 22/07/2006 16:46

The Hours
The Constant Gardener
The Shawshank Redemption
