Recommend some DVDs we can get for my film-mad step son

My step son (16) is film mad - wants to be a scriptwriter, watches films in most spare moments etc.

Looking for some fairly obscure (he's seen a lot) things we could get him on DVD for Christmas. We've been racking our brains and come up with a few possibilities but wondering if anyone can suggest anything?
