Found it kind of horrific, very shocking. Have 3 kids, one of them a girl of almost nine. Even worse as the film is supposed to be based on true life experiences of the director. It wasn't so much the drugs or violence that I found shocking, as the speed with which the main character (Holly Hunter) changed due to peer pressure and feeling 'different'. Any opinions?

oh I thought you meant the French film (also horrific and shocking!)

is this the one about the 13 year old girls? I have deliberately avoided that one as I have a teenage dd myself and would prefer to bury head in sand

Wasn't Holly Hunter the mother?

I agree it's disturbing viewing for parents but I'm glad I saw it.

Yes, no way could HH play a 13 yr old! lol

Sorry - a 'thick' moment!!! It was horribly disturbing though. I haven't been so afected by a film in ages.
