DD is having some friends over for a movie for her 9th bday - does anyone have any movie recommendations? She is sensitive and gets scared/upset easily Hmm - she likes Annie, Nanny McPhee, Stuart Little, Up and Rio. Any ideas? Not too long would be good. Thanks :)

Despicable me rules :) up, ice age whichever one, although I think three has the scary monsters in. Don't even attempt monster house, it's a u or pg, I was a quivering wreck behind a cushion where my 14 yo DSS hid with me, I'm 29 fgs. :)

Finding Nemo or Megamind?

I have a son who scares easily too, so have every sympathy!

My Neighbour Totoro/Kiki's Delivery Service/The Cat Returns (and other Ghibli)

Totoro

Kiki

Cat Returns

Ponyo

^^ all good.

There are a lot of other Ghibli films, but many are definitely not suitable for kids - stay away from Princess Mononoke as it's rather violent. Laputa (Castle in the Sky) is good, but bit too scary and has lots of shooting in it.
Spirited Away is a good one, but def has scary bits.
